Crystal Palace return to action on Sunday against Everton, just three days after reaching their first ever European final.
The Eagles secured an impressive 5-2 aggregate victory over Shakhtar Donetsk to progress into the Conference League final at Leipzig's Red Bull Arena in Germany on 27th May.
Everton will be looking to take advantage of their hosts' midweek exertions as they look to challenge for a European finish in the Premier League.
David Moyes will be buoyed by the Toffees' performance against Manchester City on Monday evening, when they came within minutes of an unexpected victory.
Best Bet – Both teams to score @ 7/10
Alternative Bet – Everton to win @ 31/20
Bet Builder – Over 2 goals, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score or assist and James Garner to be booked @ 12/1
Best Bet: Both teams to score @ 7/10
Across the last four top-flight meetings between Palace and Everton, both teams have found the back of the net and a similar outcome is expected on Sunday.
This outcome has occurred in each of Everton’s last four matches - with goals at both ends in games against Man City, West Ham, Liverpool and Brentford.
For Palace, five of their last seven games in all competitions have featured goals at each end. This, combined with the recent history of the fixture suggests backing this bet is the way to go.
Alternative Bet: Everton to win @ 31/20
There is no doubt Palace will be on a massive high having secured a place in the Conference League final, yet that competition might take its toll.
Indeed, the game against Everton will be their fourth in just 11 days. Furthermore, Oliver Glasner’s men have earned just two Premier League victories since the start of March, against Spurs and Newcastle, while they were beaten at home by relegated Burnley the month before.
Everton have also struggled domestically of late, although confidence will be taken from their 3-3 draw against City.
It looked as though three points were going to be won, before City scored two late goals to snatch a point.
Nevertheless, the Toffees will be slightly fresher than their opponents and can count on a good recent head-to-head record.
Everton haven’t lost to Palace since March 2022, enjoying a 10-game unbeaten run which includes seven victories.
Everton have won the last three meetings with Palace, with all three games finishing 2-1.
Goals have been something of a given in Everton’s recent matches. Indeed, three or more goals have been scored in six of their last eight Premier League assignments.
For Palace, eight of their last nine games in all competitions have seen at least three goals and Sunday's clash looks set to produce the goods once again.
Moyes will be counting on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to provide the cutting edge on Sunday. The Englishman has scored eight times while registering six assists across 28 league games this term.
Since returning from a hamstring injury at the end of January, Dewsbury-Hall has recorded seven goal contributions in 13 games. In three games against Palace, he has a goal and an assist. Expect him to add to that tally this weekend.
Another player to keep an eye on this weekend is James Garner. The midfielder is eyeing a place in the England squad for the World Cup, but he must improve his discipline.
The former Manchester United starlet has been booked 10 times in 35 league games. Three of those have came in his last four matches.
This game could be a tight affair and with Ganer averaging 3.2 tackles per game this season, he could well end up in the book once again.
