The Vancouver Whitecaps can move six points clear at the summit of the MLS Western Conference with a victory at the Chicago Fire this week.
Robert Lewandowski’s arrival in the Windy City has inspired the Fire to make a serious bid for top seeding in the East, and the Polish forward is expected to feature after returning from international duty.
However, the hosts still look to be the harder-hit side in terms of absentees, and the Whitecaps could take full advantage in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Best Bet: Vancouver Whitecaps to win @ 23/20
Only Eastern Conference leaders Nashville have picked up more points than Vancouver this season, and the visitors head east with a fine away record behind them.
The Whitecaps have won six of their 11 matches on the road this term, making this trip having won three consecutive away matches.
Chicago Fire fell to a 2-1 defeat to the New England Revolution in their last home match, and they have won just one of their last seven MLS assignments.
While the hosts have made clear steps forward in this campaign, they have suffered four defeats in their six meetings with the top eight sides in MLS. That record, mixed with no fewer than nine absentees, could cause problems for the Fire.
The Whitecaps have impressive attacking strength, and with both Brian White and Thomas Muller staying with the squad through the international break, the visitors should be able to secure all three points at Soldier Field.
Alternative Bet: Brian White to score anytime @ 11/10
White has now scored at least 15 times in four straight MLS campaigns, but he is on course for his best season yet. The striker has scored 17 goals, which is already a career-high for a single league campaign.
The US striker has been in stellar form, scoring in six of his last seven matches for the Whitecaps.
White has found the net in each of his last four appearances for the club, and has scored six times in 10 away games this term.
He scored the only goal when these sides last met in Chicago in 2023, and he is attractively priced to add to his record tally and extend his impressive form in front of goal.
Dje D’Avilla to be booked
Tristan Blackmon to be booked

A number of go-to players in the card markets are away on international duty, but there are two names that stand out from the sides that will take the field this week.
For the Chicago Fire, midfielder Dje D’Avilla has seven cautions in MLS this term, and he has been booked 11 times since making his debut for the Fire last season.
Of the seven bookings he has collected this term, four have come at home. He has been cautioned in home clashes with Eastern Conference leaders Nashville and MLS Cup winners Inter Miami. With another big clash ahead, D’Avilla should be backed for a card.
For the visitors, each of Tristan Blackmon’s four MLS bookings this term have come on the road. He had his name taken in the win at Real Salt Lake last month, and he should be backed alongside D’Avilla in a double.
