Arsenal's perfect start to their Premier League title defence looks set to continue when they go to Brighton on Saturday, although the in-form hosts are likely to provide a serious examination of the Gunners' credentials.
Mikel Arteta's side are a perfect four-from-four in the Premier League so far, and are actually on a seven-game winning run when victories in the Community Shield, UEFA Champions League and EFL Cup are added in.
So it's been a fine start for Arsenal, with the most recent of those wins coming on Tuesday when a much-changed side triumphed 4-2 at Ipswich in the League Cup.
Brighton, meanwhile, are also in fine fettle following a 3-2 comeback win at Manchester United in the cup in midweek that followed last weekend's 5-0 success at Coventry City.
Best Bet - Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 9/4
Alternative Bet - Martin Odegaard to score or assist @ 6/4
Bet Builder - Over 2 goals, Bukayo Saka 4+ shots, Charalampos Kostoulas 3+ shots @ 37/4
Best Bet - Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 9/4
Arsenal's terrific early-season form has put to bed any doubts over whether they are up to the challenge of defending the title, as wins over Coventry City, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Sunderland leave them joint-top with Manchester City, who have also won their first four.
Arteta's side look assured and well-equipped in every area and they are expected to scrap with City again for the top prize.
While it has been a perfect start, they have already had to dig in for wins at Villa and Sunderland, defending well before striking in a timely fashion at the other end.
And it could be another gritty display which secures them a fifth straight league win on the south coast.
Brighton were excellent when tearing Coventry apart last weekend in a 5-0 success and they followed that up with a stunning comeback in the cup at Old Trafford in the week.
Fabian Hurzeler's side are the leading scorers in the top flight, banging in 13 goals in their first four, so they will be confident of at least finding the back of the net against the Gunners, although preventing Arteta's men from securing all three points looks a step too far.
Alternative Bet - Martin Odegaard to score or assist @ 6/4
Martin Odegaard has been inspiring Arsenal in the early weeks and the Norway international has scored four goals in all competitions if you include the one he got against Man City in the Community Shield.
He was rotated to the bench for the trip to Ipswich in midweek but came on for the final 15 minutes to ensure he will still be ticking over nicely for the clash at the Amex.
The midfielder has yet to get an assist this season but it is surely just a matter of time before he sets up one of his team-mates after he ended the 2025/26 campaign with eight assists in all competitions.
Over 2 goals
Bukayo Saka 4+ shots
Charalampos Kostoulas 3+ shots
Pays 37/4
An entertaining contested is predicted between two in-form sides, who both usually score at least two goals per game.
Brighton have only failed to score multiple times once so far this season - when Leeds held them to a 1-1 draw at the Amex, while the Gunners' only outing when they haven't scored two or more came in the 1-0 win at Villa.
Over 2.5 goals is fancied, then, especially when you consider the breadth of attacking talent available to both managers.
Among the visitors' star men is Bukayo Saka, who has three goals this season, but probably should have had more.
The England forward has had 14 shots across his last three appearances, managing four in the recent win over Chelsea, six in the UEFA Champions League against Napoli and then four again at Sunderland.
Expect him to keep that impressive run going by taking at least four shots at the weekend.
And Charalampos Kostoulas is likely going to be lively at the other end for the Seagulls. The Greek forward has three goals in all competitions and has had at least three shots in his last three appearances.
