Bayern Munich v Stuttgart Prediction: Kane 13/5 to open the scoring

Bayern Munich collected a record-extending 35th Bundesliga title last season and backed it up by beating Stuttgart 3-0 to win a 21st DFB-Pokal.

The pair meet again on Friday, with Bayern's players already having claimed silverware in 2026/27 by winning 2-1 at Borussia Dortmund in last Saturday's DFB Super Cup.

Stuttgart, who opened their campaign with a 4-0 cup win at Hansa Rostock, finished fourth last season, qualifying directly for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

However, they have won only two of their last 33 meetings with Bayern, whose star striker has a habit of punishing them.

Bayern Munich v Stuttgart Prediction

Best Bet: Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score @ 20/21

It is difficult to envisage anything other than a Bayern win. They are unbeaten in their last 14 Bundesliga season openers and lost only once at home in 2025/26 - their almost annual poor result against fellow Bavarian outfit Augsburg.

Stuttgart won only six of their 17 away matches but could be good for a goal. They scored twice at the Allianz Arena in April, albeit their 4-2 loss was all about Bayern as they wrapped up the title.

However, that sparked a run of both teams scoring before half-time in Bayern's final three home games, and they could concede again, albeit in victory.

Alternative Bet: Harry Kane first goalscorer @ 13/5

Harry Kane came off the bench to score in April's match, then netted a hat-trick in May's DFB-Pokal final victory.

The England captain's tally when facing Stuttgart is 14 goals in eight matches, including three hat-tricks.

Despite limited training time since the World Cup, Kane played the entire Super Cup, producing an all-action performance.

Failing to score will still have irked him and like in the DFB-Pokal final, he is backed to break the deadlock on Friday.

Bayern Munich v Stuttgart Bet Builder Tip

  • Michael Olise to score or assist

  • Nathaniel Brown to score or assist

  • Deniz Undav: 2+ shots on target

  • Over 4 goals

  • Pays 37/4

Like Kane, Michael Olise barely had any build-up to the Super Cup, but contributed a goal and an assist.

The Frenchman is only getting better, and he could lay on another effort for new signing Nathaniel Brown.

Brown joined from Eintracht Frankfurt and looks to be Bayern's long-term solution at left-back.

However, his versatility lets him slot into different positions, and that unpredictability means he may find himself with more scoring opportunities.

After four goals and as many assists in 2025/26, he can open his tally early this season.

Stuttgart's Deniz Undav was the Bundesliga's second-highest scorer behind Kane last season, netting 19 to the Englishman's 36.

Undav is an unfashionable but effective player, and his 1.85 shots on target per 90 minutes last season was a sign of things to come, as he was one of the few German players to emerge from the World Cup with credit.

His willingness to shoot can contribute to a high-scoring game. When these teams met in Munich in April, they scored six goals, contributing to Bayern's Bundesliga games averaging 4.65 goals.
