Best Bet: Arsenal to win to nil @ 8/11

The strength of Arsenal’s backline was highlighted in their battling win at Liverpool last week, when their opponents failed to register a shot on target despite their best efforts.

That was a third league clean sheet in a row, having kept both Everton and Nottingham Forest at bay prior to their 1-0 Anfield success.

It’s now just five goals conceded in nine Premier League fixtures, with just two goals leaked on home soil in four matches at the Emirates.

Most people will expect Mikel Arteta to stretch their winning run with victory over newly promoted Hull, who have collected just four points from their opening four away games.

You have to go back to 1915 for the last time the Tigers beat Arsenal home or away and they have found the net just once in their last four meetings.

The Gunners did have an European away tie on Wednesday, winning 2-1 at Slavia Prague thanks to goals from Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.

Perhaps more importantly, Arteta was able to make several changes and give a break for some of his regulars in the Czech Republic.

Alternative Bet: Bruno Guimaraes to Score or Assist @ 11/8

One of the players who was given a full rest in midweek was Bruno Guimaraes, who sat on the bench for the full 90 minutes.

Arteta decided to go with Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino in Prague, with Guimaraes and Martin Odegaard expected to come back into the starting XI against Hull.

The former Newcastle man has already collected two goals in seven Premier League appearances this season, including the winner in the 2-1 victory over Leeds at the Emirates.

Even though his performances have steadily improved in recent weeks, the Brazilian will be desperate to prove he should be a regular starter for the Gunners.

Another player to be rested in midweek was Riccardo Califiori, after an impressive display from the Italian in last Sunday’s win over Liverpool.

The 24-year-old has already scored and had two assists this term, with an individual xG of 1.22, and has racked up five shots to date.

No Premier League team has collected more yellow cards this season than Hull, who have already been handed 25 cautions.

Six of those yellows have been accumulated by striker Oliver McBurnie (4) and midfielder Regan Slater (2) and both look likely candidates for a booking this weekend.

Despite sitting top of the table, Arsenal are only ranked 14th for total shots, with the Gunners racking up 76 attempts to date.

That tally is just two better than Hull (74), with the Tigers managing 26 efforts in their last three games, including just five shots in their most recent away game at Fulham.
