Five contenders to be the next Crystal Palace manager

We take a look at the contenders to be the next manager of Crystal Palace following their poor start to the 2026/27 season.

Former Lens boss Pierre Sage took over at Crystal Palace in the summer after former manager Oliver Glasner had guided the club to success in the FA Cup and the Conference League.

His arrival has not had the desired impact and the Eagles are now bottom of the Premier League heading into the international break.

Sunday's 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool was the fourth league loss in a row and supporters are becoming increasingly concerned about the club's current position.

Here are our top five contenders to be the next Crystal Palace manager in the event that the club's hierarchy decide to make a change.

Next Crystal Palace Manager Contenders

Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche remains out of work after being relieved of his duties at Nottingham Forest in February.

The 55-year-old has enjoyed plenty of media work in recent months, but his managerial door remains ajar for the right job.

Dyche is no stranger to walking into difficult situations and owner Steve Parish is known to be a fan of the popular manager.

Anthony Barry

England's assistant manager Anthony Barry has been linked with the Crystal Palace role in the last couple of weeks.

Thomas Tuchel's number two was part of the coaching team that helped England reach the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

Barry has also been part of the coaching setup at the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich in the past, but he is yet to make the move into management.

Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank continues to be linked with various Premier League roles as he looks to return to the dugout.

Frank led Brentford to the Premier League before stabilising the club in the top-flight during a successful period with the Bees.

His subsequent stint as Tottenham Hotspur manager was less successful and he will be out to prove a point in his next job.

Kieran McKenna

Former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna decided to take a break from football at the end of last season.

He has twice won promotion to the Premier League with the Tractor Boys, but he stepped aside in May to spend more time at home.

McKenna has been linked with the likes of Celtic and Newcastle United and it would be a coup if the Eagles could appoint him.

Carlos Corberan

Carlos Corberan was sacked from his position as Valencia manager in September.

The Spanish coach has a good reputation in English football having previously led Huddersfield Town and West Bromwich Albion.

He is believed to be holding out for a Premier League job following links with positions in the Championship.
