With the transfer window entering its final few days, Championship clubs are in a race against time to conduct their final pieces of business.
An unprecedented amount of money has been spent by second-tier clubs this summer as they clamour to get their hands on the vast riches of the Premier League.
West Ham United have shattered the Championship transfer record in acquiring Celtic star Arne Engels for £22 million, whilst Middlesbrough's potential outlay for Tottenham Hotspur pair Will Lankshear and Ashley Phillips tallies a reported £40 million!
There have been other significant deals too, with the likes of Wrexham, Burnley and Swansea City splashing the cash to bolster their squads and enhance their own promotion ambitions.
Now, as the clock ticks down towards the closure of the window, there will be one final late scramble for game-changers, and we take a look at five high-profile players who could well be on the move...
Harry Amass
Harry Amass is one of the most intriguing players to watch as deadline day looms.
The Manchester United left-back has already gained valuable Championship experience and is attracting the late interest of several clubs in the second tier.
It's understood Old Trafford boss Michael Carrick is willing to sanction a permanent departure, although any of the handful of sides to have registered their interest in him will likely have to pay a premium to prize him away.
At just 19, he has plenty of room for development, but as he has already shown across his two eye-catching stints in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City, he already possesses the qualities to establish himself as one of the best attacking left-backs in the league.
The figure being mooted for any side wishing to do a deal is around £7 million; a fee that one or two clubs could be willing to pay to seal a late deal.
Adrian Segecic
Adrian Segecic has wasted absolutely no time in catching the eyes of the Championship big boys.
The young Australian enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at Portsmouth last term, scoring 11 times in just 24 league starts to cement himself as a mainstay in the Pompey frontline.
Portsmouth clearly wouldn't want to part ways with their talisman, but persuading the player to remain put when clubs such as Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are circling could prove difficult.
Both sides, you'd expect, possess the financial muscle to turn Segecic's head... it's just whether Portsmouth will be willing to cut ties with their best player so late in the day.

Harry Souttar
Harry Souttar's stock remains high despite the recent struggles of Leicester City.
The Australian international, who starred for his country at the World Cup, has been linked with a number of Championship clubs, including Wrexham and Sheffield United, since the Foxes dropped down into the third tier.
Russell Martin has tried his best into talking the giant defender into staying -- and even handed him the captaincy -- but the lure of a return to the second tier will surely possess too much pulling power for the former Stoke City academy graduate.
Souttar became Australia’s most expensive player when he joined Leicester for around £15 million and despite a few injury issues, has always looked the part.
Wrexham’s ambition is clear. Having climbed from the National League to the Championship, they are now targeting promotion to the Premier League, and securing the services of Souttar could go some way to helping them fulfil their lofty ambition.
Leicester's questionably inflated asking price could prove decisive, but this is certainly one to watch.
Ellis Simms
The future of Ellis Simms appears to have simmered over the past week or so, but it's undoubtedly one that could rear its head once more.
With goalscoring strikers at the top of pretty much every clubs wishlist, the potential availability of the Coventry City star could spark a late transfer scramble.
The powerful frontman played an integral role in the Sky Blues' promotion winning campaign in 2025/26, helping himself to 14 goals as they secured the Championship title.
Simms led the line for Frank Lampard's men against Arsenal in last weekend's top-flight opener, but with Taiwo Awoniyi and Sidiki Cherif having been brought into the club for big money this summer, Simms could quickly fall down the pecking order.

Jack Clarke
Ipswich Town boss Gary O'Neill has recently played down speculation that Jack Clarke could head through the Portman Road exit doors this month.
The winger scored 16 times in the Championship last term as the Tractor Boys bounced back to the big league at the first time of asking under Kieran McKenna.
However, following his shock departure, and the arrival of O'Neill, there was talk that Clarke could be on the move.
Middlesbrough -- who have already spent vast sums this summer -- were heavily mooted as potential suitors, whilst Millwall, Wrexham and others have registered their interest too.
Clarke isn't likely to start too many games in the Premier League as O'Neill adapts something of a safety first approach, but he showed his credentials by stepping off the bench to seal a dramatic opened day victory over Sunderland.
That goal could prove decisive in ensuring he remains in Suffolk for the next four or five months at least, but who knows, should Town secure a late new attacking arrival of their own, then it could potentially pave the way for Clarke to depart.
