The FIFA Men's World Cup is the undoubted holy grail of professional football.
Since its formation way back in 1930, eight nations have managed to reign supreme and hold aloft the coveted 18-carat gold trophy.
South American giants Brazil are the most decorated country on earth, having prevailed on five occasions, one more than Italy and Germany, both of whom have four wins to their name.
Reigning title-holders Argentina, who beat France in the Qatar showpiece four years ago, have won the World Cup three times with Uruguay and France both boasting two.
England, of course, went the full distance under Sir Alf Ramsay in 1966, as did Spain, for the first and only time in their history, in 2010.
