If you don't take the race win, there's always the comfort of finishing on the podium and we've compiled the list of Formula One drivers who have achieved the most top-three finishes since the inaugural season in 1950.
Unsurprisingly it's Lewis Hamilton who tops the chart for most podiums and the Briton is the only driver to have featured in the top three on more than 200 occasions.
In fact, the Ferrari driver has finished on the podium in 56.74% of his races, a percentage only bettered by Juan Manuel Fangio (68.63%) of drivers with 30 or more podium finishes.
Hamilton has been on the podium 15 times at Silverstone, which is the most of any driver at a single circuit.
Accompanying Hamilton in the top two is fellow seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher who achieved 155 podium finishes during his illustrious career.
The German achieved the unprecedented feat of achieving a podium finish in every race of the 2002 season where he finished first or second in every race except the Malaysian Grand Prix, where he crossed the line in third.
Ranking third on the all-time podiums list is Sebastian Vettel, although it's only a matter of time until the four-time world champion is overtaken by another four-time world champion in Max Verstappen.
Vettel achieved 65 of his podium finishes with Red Bull and while his stint with Ferrari may not have yielded a fifth title he so desperately craved, the German still finished in the top three on 54 occasions for the Italian giants.
