Lando Norris has signed a new contract with McLaren, keeping him with the team until the end of 2030, describing the decision as "quite an easy yes for me".
The reigning world champion looks set to surrender his title to Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, but had no doubts about staying on, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2027 season.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Norris said: "There was some interest from elsewhere, but I don't want to go anywhere. I don't want to be with another team. I don't want to spend time with other people.
"That's why it really was probably one of the easiest decisions I've made since being in Formula 1."
Norris has a long-term relationship with McLaren, having made his F1 debut with the constructor back in 2019 when they were lagging well behind the big three of Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.
Norris added: "Even through tougher years, the fact I can still call this my home is something that I dreamed of as a kid. Not much can influence away from wanting to leave here.
"The fact I stuck it through with them and then we went on to obviously have success certainly makes me feel like I don't want to... they didn't give up on me and I didn't give up on them.
"That just creates a very strong bond between everyone that works here. I want to believe that bond stays as strong as it is now 'til I do retire in my career at Formula 1."
After a slow start to the season, Antonelli built up a sizeable lead at the top of the Drivers' standings with five wins in the first six Grands Prix, but after back-to-back wins, Norris has closed the gap by 18 points to the Italian, and the Brit will fancy his chances of topping the podium a few more times between now and the season's end.
