George Russell has had to take a back seat while his young Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli has grabbed all the headlines with a sensational run of five straight wins, but the British driver has had a much stronger weekend at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix and can win from pole on Sunday.
Russell was the faster Silver Arrows driver in all three sections of qualifying on Saturday and, while he has a long way to go to overcome the Italian star's 66-point lead, he should be able to reduce the deficit.
Russell has Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari alongside him on the front row of the grid, with Antonelli and world champion Lando Norris of McLaren on the second row.
Best Bet - George Russell (Enhanced Win Only) @ 4/6
Alternative Bet - Lando Norris to finish 3rd @ 13/10
Bet Builder - Kimi Antonelli to finish in the top 2, Max Verstappen to win Group 2, Liam Lawson to win Group 3, Sergio Perez to win Race Match Bet v Valtteri Bottas @ 13/2
Best Bet: George Russell (Enhanced Win Only) @ 4/6
George Russell has gone four races without even making the podium but he can start a much-needed revival by claiming his second victory of the season in Barcelona on Sunday.
The Mercedes driver was having a strong race in Montreal when his car's battery failed and there was more frustration in Monaco when he qualified only sixth but had moved up to third before multiple penalties left him out of the points.
Now 66 points behind emerging star Antonelli, Russell has done well to reset this week with a series of solid performances that have given him an ideal chance to secure a much-needed win.
He's 8/13 in the main race odds, but a slightly more rewarding 4/6 is available in the enhanced win-only market.
Alternative Bet: Lando Norris to finish 3rd @ 13/10
McLaren have had an up-and-down weekend as they looked the closest challengers to Mercedes in practice, when Oscar Piastri was second to Russell on Friday morning and Lando Norris topped the times in the afternoon.
They were in the hunt again on Saturday morning but began to struggle as soon as qualifying began.
Norris was able to recover the situation to qualify fourth, a fraction behind Antonelli, though, and he is capable of taking third place and securing his second podium finish of the season.
The practice sessions suggested McLaren should perform well over longer runs at a track with high tyre degradation.
For a four-leg Bet Builder on the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix that pays out at 13/2 if successful, start by taking Antonelli to finish in the top two.
He looks the biggest danger to pole-sitter Russell and has never been out of the top two this season.
Add a pair of bets in bet365's race group markets, taking Max Verstappen to win Group 2 ahead of Oscar Piastri, Charles Leclerc and Isack Hadjar, and Liam Lawson to win Group 3 against Nico Hulkenberg, Arvid Lindblad and Gabriel Bortoleto.
Verstappen has improved throughout the weekend and qualified in a handy fifth place, while Lawson was the strongest qualifier outside of the top four teams in eighth.
Add Sergio Perez to win his all-Cadillac match bet with Valtteri Bottas. The Mexican starts one place ahead of the Finn in 19th and his trademark talent of keeping his tyres in good shape could be extremely valuable this week.
