After a scrappy first half, the Three Lions took the lead shortly before the hour through Anthony Gordon. Thomas Tuchel opted to rest on his laurels, calling his men back to defend their box as they did against Mexico, but the decision backfired with Enzo Fernandez scoring a long-range rasping effort in the 85th minute with Lautaro Martinez scoring a stoppage-time winner.
