DP World Tour will refuse any player from being a member of its circuit if they sign up to the relaunched LIV Golf next season.
After losing the backing of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) earlier this year which led to the league filing for bankruptcy protection, LIV Golf is set to relaunch next year after a major financial restructure.
However, uncertainty remains concerning the future of LIV Golf, and that speculation has amplified with the DP World Tour adopting a tougher stance on their membership status.
From 2027, all players will be asked to disclose their playing intentions, and their answer will be taken into account when deciding their membership. It's understood those that do not disclose their intentions to play LIV and go on to do so will have their membership terminated.
Players have until 16th November to sign up to the DP World Tour for next year, which is three weeks after the LIV Golf deadline to sign players.
CEO of the DP World Tour, Guy Kinnings, reiterated the stricter stance being taken.
"Players need to make a choice," Kinnings told BBC Sport.
"We have rules and regulations which are there to protect our tour and which our members must all abide by.
"Players who are not willing to comply with our rules and regulations should not be seeking to join our tour."
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are two of 15 LIV players who are eligible under one of the membership categories with the DP World Tour.
Conditional releases have enabled both Rahm and Hatton to participate on both the DP World Tour and LIV in the past. However, that will not be the case moving forward.
Two-time major winner Rahm recently said he will not continue playing on the LIV tour. The Spaniard deemed the proposed terms of the new league "unacceptable", according to his laywer.
Adrian Meronk and David Puig have also stated their intentions not to commit to LIV 2.0, while Sergio Garcia's LIV contract has been terminated. Richard Bland is one of few to express their desire to continue with the breakaway tour.
Only DP World Tour members are eligible for selection by Europe in the Ryder Cup and with the 2027 edition on the horizon, Hatton will have a decision to make if he is to feature in Luke Donald's plans for Adare Manor next September.
