Derby County are reportedly plotting a move to sign Manchester City striker Divin Mubama on loan.
Transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke took to X to report that the Rams are in "advanced talks" to sign the 21-year-old on a temporary basis following his 12-month loan spell with Stoke City.
Derby have already been linked with loan switches for Man City starlet Stephen Mfuni and Chelsea academy graduate Kiano Dyer, while Bobby Clark remains the only permanent addition so far this window -- joining the club for a £6m fee following a successful loan spell in the 2025/26 term.
Mubama made a name for himself at youth level for East London outfit West Ham, scoring 30 goals in 47 games for the club's U18s and enjoying success in his first full Premier League 2 term -- scoring 13 goals in 20 appearances.
The England U21 was in and around the first team setup at the Hammers from the 2022/23 campaign -- where he made his senior debut for the club in the UEFA Europa Conference League against FCSB -- but he featured scarcely for the club in the following seasons.
It was somewhat surprising to see the striker make the £2m switch from West Ham to Manchester City in 2024, viewed by many as a backwards step given the lack of first team opportunities expected at the Etihad.
He spent the majority of his first season at the club with the U21s -- barring two first team appearances -- but the summer of 2025 saw him make the loan move to Championship outfit Stoke City.
It was perhaps the season that you would expect from a player experiencing their first full campaign in senior football -- scoring a handful of goals and suffering from injuries in the latter stages of the season -- but Derby are seemingly willing to take a chance on the forward who has scored 81 goals in 121 career games across numerous levels and competitions.
The East Midlands outfit were one of just three Championship teams that Mubama scored against in the 2025/26 season, and they'll hope that he can deliver in front of goal should they get the signing over the line.
