Derby County are reportedly amongst the Championship clubs eyeing a potential loan move for Chelsea starlet Kiano Dyer.
Ontheminute.com reported that "Derby County are keeping an eye on Chelsea midfielder Kiano Dyer as the race for his signature starts to take shape ahead of next season".
He has been added "to their list of possible loan targets, with Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers also monitoring his situation".
The report specified that "Derby are expected to use the loan market carefully as they look for extra midfield energy and technical quality".
If the start of the 2026/27 transfer window is anything to go by, Derby are in for a busy summer.
The club announced the permanent addition of Bobby Clark on Monday evening, with the 21-year-old establishing himself as a fan favourite in a largely successful 12-month loan spell, but their pursuit of midfield reinforcement seemingly won't stop there.
Dyer is amongst a number of Conham graduates who have felt the burden of Chelsea's excessive spending, making just one senior appearance for the club since joining the club's youth setup in 2021.
Dyer, who has represented England from U16s up to U20s, did get his first taste for senior football when making the loan switch to Eredivisie outfit Volendam in the September of 2025, but he made just four appearances for the club and was recalled in January.
The fact that Dyer signed a five-year contract with the West London outfit before making the loan switch to the Netherlands is proof that Chelsea have high hopes for the 19-year-old, but regular minutes are undoubtedly necessary before he makes the sizeable jump to the club's senior squad.
