Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Yorkshire will look to bounce back from their Roses clash humiliation and claim a T20 Blast quarter-final berth when they entertain North Group winners Nottinghamshire at Headingley on Sunday afternoon.

Yorkshire's qualification hopes remain firmly in their own hands, despite Friday's setback at Old Trafford as Lancashire earned a 22-run win over Jonny Bairstow's side.

A win at Headingley, which has been a stronghold for them in this format all season, takes them through, while their superior net run‑rate means even a defeat is unlikely to completely derail their campaign.

However, Adam Lyth has made it clear that the White Rose want momentum, not mathematics, to carry them into the knockouts.

Lyth, Bairstow and Matthew Revis have been outstanding with the bat, forming one of the most destructive top‑orders in the North Group. With the ball, Jafer Chohan and Andrew Tye have led the charge — alongside Hasan Ali, who tops the entire Blast wicket charts with 23 scalps at a strike rate of 9.3.

The Outlaws sealed top spot in the North Group and a home quarter‑final on Friday when they sank Leicestershire Foxes by six wickets at Trent Bridge in a local derby.

That was an eighth win in a row in this competition and Joe Clarke's side will be eager to maintain their red‑hot form.

George Munsey and Tom Moores have been superb with the bat, while the now-departed Mohammad Ali and George Linde have spearheaded a potent bowling attack.

Yorkshire have won four of the last five meetings and, with more on the line for the hosts, the Outlaws may struggle to maintain their winning run in Leeds.

Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire

Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire Prediction

Best Bet - Match Handicap: Yorkshire +2.5 Wkts/+3.5 Runs @ 10/11

Notts began the campaign with three straight losses in this competition, but the Outlaws are riding an eight-match winning streak in the Blast.

They have combined explosive batting with disciplined bowling and both elements were on show in their win over the Foxes on Friday.

However, it would be only human for Clarke's side to take their foot off the gas after securing their main objectives of qualification with a quarter-final back at Trent Bridge.

Yorkshire will be smarting from their Roses reverse at Old Trafford, which kept Lancashire's faint hopes alive.

But they battled back in that match to ensure the Lightning won by only 22 runs, when a heavier defeat seemed likely at 47-5 in their reply.

Yorkshire's batting has been strong at home this season and they have posted totals in excess of 200 in their last three Headingley outings.

As long as they keep that up, and Hasan Ali continues to contribute with the ball, then the Outlaws will find it tough to secure a win by more than a handful of wickets or runs.

Alternative Bet - Binura Fernando Over 1.5 Wickets @ 7/4

The Outlaws announced the signing of Binura Fernando this week as a replacement for Pakistan paceman Mohammad Ali, who has been called up for international duty.

And the Sri Lanka international seamer made an immediate impact on his Blast debut by claiming two wickets in Nottinghamshire's comfortable six-wicket victory over Leicestershire Foxes at Trent Bridge on Friday.

He has taken 25 wickets in 24 T20Is for his country but really impressed at franchise level with Rajshahi Warriors in the Bangladesh Premier League earlier this year.

Fernando claimed 18 wickets in 11 matches in that tournament, including four in the final as the Warriors beat Chattogram Royals in Mirpur.

Fernando stands 6'7" tall and swings the new ball from a left-arm angle, which should make him tricky for the Yorkshire batters to deal with on Sunday.

Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire Bet Builder Tip

  • Yorkshire to Win

  • George Munsey 10+ Runs

  • Adam Lyth 1+ Sixes

Pays 16/5

Yorkshire have more to play for, a better head-to-head record and usually bat well at Headingley.

They are worth backing to win this clash while Lyth, who has been superb this season, can add to his tally of sixes in the competition.

The former England opener has belted 19 maximums in total, including at least one in four of his last five innings.

Munsey averages almost 60 in the competition, having passed 20 in seven of his 11 innings, so add him to reach double figures to this Bet Builder.

Key Match Stats

  • Yorkshire have won four of the last five meetings with Nottinghamshire

  • Yorkshire have won four of five group stage games at Headingley

  • Lyth has hit 12 sixes in his last five T20 Blast innings

  • Munsey is the third‑highest run‑scorer in the Blast (468)

  • Hasan Ali is the leading wicket‑taker (23 wickets)
