County Championship Division Two odds

Durham are favourites to win the Division Two title after suffering relegation from the top tier in 2025.

Relegation came as a major shock on the final day of last season and fans will be hoping that there is no hangover within the squad heading into the new season.

They will be joined by Worcestershire who also suffered the drop in 2025.

11/4 makes Durham the market's idea of Division Two glory this season and, taking a look at their squad, they have to have leading claims.

Opening batter Emilio Gay performed brilliantly in Division One last campaign and took his talents to Australia over the winter where he made two-half centuries for England Lions.

Whilst Gay will provide stability with the bat, Durham have also added Kemar Roach to their squad until June to strengthen their bowling attack.

Worcestershire (9/2), led by stalwart Brett D'Oliveira, will also harbour hopes of a swift return to the first division.

The signing of 27-year-old South African all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel could prove to be a shrewd pickup while the likes of Tom Taylor and Jake Libby are tried and tested county talents.

Micky Arthur will again lead Derbyshire (5/1) following an encouraging 2025 campaign where they finished third.

Italy captain Wayne Madsen is as close to guaranteed runs as you can get at this level and the capture of England spinner Shoaib Bashir is an absolutely fascinating addition to an already solid squad.

Historically speaking, Lancashire (11/4) are one of the biggest counties in England and this season are led by one of the greatest ever to play the game in Sir James Anderson.

Anderson returned to the county game after retiring from international duty in 2024 and committed his long-term future to the club by taking over the captaincy from Keaton Jennings in December.
