Chelsea booked their place in the third round of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 win over League One outfit Luton Town.
The travelling supporters no doubt feared for the worst when seeing the likes of Reece James, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers present in the starting XI, but the visitors kept Xabi Alonso's side at bay in the opening 45 minutes.
It didn't take long in the second half for Chelsea to open the scoring however, with summer arrival Danny Welbeck scoring his first goal for the club in the 50th minute of the contest.
Jack Wilshere's side persisted -- even after going one goal down -- but an own goal from central defender Hakeem Odoffin all but sealed their fate in the 79th minute.
It's a result that will see Chelsea welcome fellow Premier League side Leeds United to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the competition.
