Chelsea 1-2 Tottenham match stats as 10-man Spurs score late winner

After both technically making winning starts to the Sydney Super Cup earlier in the week, Xabi Alonso and Roberto de Zerbi named strong starting XIs for the first Chelsea v Tottenham derby ever played outside of London.

Chelsea made the stronger opening to the contest but fell behind when Sandro Tonali's effort took a wicked deflection and found the bottom corner to give Spurs a 17th minute lead.

The Blues responded almost immediately and were level four minutes later when Estevao headed home a superb cross from Jamie Gittens.

Both sides made changes at the interval and one substitution unfortunately had an instant impact for all of the wrong reasons.

Tottenham defender Kevin Danso lasted just three minutes as he was shown a red card for denying Joao Pedro a clear goalscoring penalty. While it was arguably the correct decision, de Zerbi seemed extremely frustrated that a player had been sent off in a friendly.

A number of changes led to a fairly disjointed second half and Tottenham impressively managed the game with 10 men, before Richarlison pounced to score the winner with almost the last kick of the game.
