John Eustace has provided an update on Charlie Taylor after the defender was forced off against Burnley last month.
Taylor was withdrawn during the closing stages at Turf Moor last month, with Derby ultimately rescuing a point courtesy of a stoppage-time goal from Mohammed Fuseini.
The injury has proven to be a major headache for Eustace, who is now without a senior left-back as both Derry Murkin and Craig Forsyth are also unavailable.
The disruption to the squad has been such that Derby were forced to cancel a planned friendly with Sheffield Wednesday during the international break due to having just seven available players.
The experienced Taylor arrived at Pride Park on a free transfer this summer after a two-year spell at Southampton came to an end.
He previously made more than 100 Premier League appearances with Burnley between 2017 and 2024.
Speaking ahead of his side's clash with Wrexham Eustace confirmed that Taylor is set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Taylor was originally intended to serve in a rotational role but with Murkin also out with a hamstring injury the former England youth international found himself playing every game of the club's Championship campaign thus far.
"Charlie is going to be missing for the next three or four weeks," Eustace said.
"It's a bit of a bad one on his hamstring. Obviously, we brought Charlie to the club as that experienced left back and probably weren't expecting to play as many games as he has done in a short period of time.
"Unfortunately, it's just caught up with him."
If the prognosis is correct, Taylor should be ready to return to action when the strugglers play host to Bolton Wanderers on 6 November in the final game before the second international break of the season.
