Cesc Fabregas manager odds: Coveted Como boss linked to several jobs

Cesc Fabregas is hot property in the managerial sphere after guiding Como to unprecedented heights in Serie A.

The former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder was named the permanent head coach of Como in the summer of 2024 after the club achieved promotion to Italy's top-flight for the first time in their history during the 2023/24 season.

Backed by the substantial financial resource of the Hartono brothers, Como ended their first campaign in 10th under Fabregas' supervision and I Lariani have built on those foundations in the current campaign as they challenge for UEFA Champions League qualification.

While still in the infancy of his coaching career, Fabregas' tactical expertise and leadership qualities have resulted in the 38-year-old being linked to a catalogue of vacancies across Europe.

The odds continue to drift as we descend down the order, although it's been claimed by former Italy defender Marco Materazzi that Fabregas would consider taking the Manchester United job if it was offered to him.

A pivotal period lies ahead for the Old Trafford outfit as they decide whether to award interim head coach Michael Carrick the role on a permanent basis or look elsewhere, and a number of names have been linked with a move to the 13-time Premier League champions.

Crystal Palace

There's no harm in Crystal Palace being ambitious!

If Fabregas was looking to make a switch to the Premier League but wished to pursue a conservative approach to the summit, then proving his credentials at Crystal Palace before going on to take a big job would be a respectable way to progress his managerial career.

However, a move to Crystal Palace seems incredibly unlikely, with the likes of Iraola, Thomas Frank, and Marcelino Toral all tipped to become Glasner's successor.
