Celtic are attempting to complete a deal to sign Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis.
Journalist Anthony Joseph has reported a deal is getting closer as Celtic look to conclude the deadline day signing.
"UPDATE: Celtic are close to agreeing a deal for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis.
"It’s understood talks have progressed well today and have reached an advanced stage.
"The Lithuania international, 22, is said to be keen to join the Scottish champions.
"Gineitis has been Celtic’s prime central midfield target this summer."
Gineitis joined Torino in January 2022 and he has made 76 league appearances for the club.
He has also been capped 29 times for Lithuania and has become a key player for his national side.
His performances have caught the attention of Celtic who have been chasing the player for a number of weeks.
The Scottish Premiership champions could be set for a busy final few hours on deadline day, with Gineitis at the top of the priority list.
Celtic are back in action when they entertain Aberdeen on Wednesday and they will be looking to extend their winning start to the new league season.
