Cardiff City legend Michael Chopra has come out of retirement to sign for Welsh side Trethomas Bluebirds.
The 42-year-old has not played football since a brief spell with English non-league side West Allotment Celtic in 2022.
He last played professionally for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League a decade ago where he scored one goal in 10 appearances.
Chopra's new club ply their trade in the Cymru South league, which is one level below the top-flight of Welsh football.
He will make his debut for the club in a charity match on Saturday afternoon and is expected to select which games he can play, given that he currently lives in the Netherlands.
Chopra was a fans favourite at Cardiff during two separate spells as a Bluebirds player.
He first made the move to South Wales in June 2006 for a fee of £500,000 after being unable to force his way into the first-team at Newcastle United.
After scoring 22 goals in 44 Championship appearances, Chopra earned a big-money move to Premier League side Sunderland the following summer.
Chopra spent 18 months on Tyneside before returning to Cardiff on loan in the 2008/09 season, prior to then signing permanently for a second time.
In total, Chopra scored 54 goals in 159 appearances for the club and Welsh football fans will now get the opportunity to see him put his boots on once more.
