Cameron Young is playing the best golf of his career and will be eyeing a Major breakthrough at the PGA Championship later this month.
The 28-year-old already has a brace of wins to his name this season, landing the prestigious Players' Championship in March before storming his way to an impressive wire-to-wire success in the inaugural Cadillac Championship on Sunday.
Young cruised to a six-stroke victory at Trump National, the second-largest winning margin after Justin Rose's seven-shot win in the Farmers' Insurance Open earlier this year.
The New Yorker finished 19-under par, far clear of Scottie Scheffler who, despite a late birdie surge, could only get to 13-under.
Sunday's triumph in Florida brought Young's winning tally up to three on the PGA Tour after he landed the Wyndham Championship in August last year.
The New Yorker now looks to be a credible win chance when it comes to golf's four major championships and his next chance arrives in the form of the PGA Championship.
This year's event will be held at the notoriously tricky Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania but Young's impressive major record will stand him in good stead.
In 19 attempts, Young has finished in the top-10 on seven different occasions, going really close to victory in the Open Championship in 2022 where he finished runner-up to Cameron Smith.
He has also finished within range at the Masters in three different years, ending his tournament in T3 at Augusta last April.
Young has ended the week inside the top-10 of the leaderboard at the PGA Championship once in his career. For a while, it looked as if he might break his major duck that weekend, however, a late double-bogey cost him dearly; surrendering a promising position to Mito Pereira and eventual winner Justin Thomas.
Four years on, Young's game is more refined, more ruthless and he looks poised to make a big run at Aronimink when he tees it up on 14th May.
