Bukayo Saka is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after sustaining a quadriceps injury in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
With no other player in close proximity, the Gunners winger played a pass before suddenly falling to the ground and clutching the back of his left leg.
Immediately signalling to the bench, the Arsenal medical team were evidently concerned about the nature of Saka's injury and it was decided relatively quickly that he should take no further part in proceedings.
Returning to London for further assessment, fluid around the affected muscle has made diagnosing the injury complicated, but early examinations are suggesting Saka faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
"We need a few more scans and opinions from the specialists," said Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta.
"When a player has to walk off the pitch, he is struggling to walk without any pain, and is restricted to movement; it is not a good sign. Let's be a little bit patient so we can give a definitive assessment.
"He's got another MRI as there was quite a lot of fluid in the area so it was quite difficult to understand the extent of the injury. We will know more tomorrow."
We've taken a look at the fixtures Saka is set to miss and the earliest he will return from injury.
Initial scans have revealed Saka will miss a minimum of six weeks with the quadriceps injury he sustained against Bayern.
There is a possibility, however, that the England international could be out for even longer as he undergoes further scans to learn the full severity of the issue.
Arsenal's medical staff expect an injury lay-off between six to eight weeks, but if the quadricep injury is more severe than first realised, Saka could be out for several months.
Assuming Saka is out for the predicted eight-week period, he will miss at least 13 Arsenal fixtures in all competitions and two England matches:
