Bryson DeChambeau was typically candid ahead of the start of the 126th edition of the U.S. Open on Thursday.
The tournament has played host to both of DeChambeau's career Major wins, with his maiden triumph coming at Winged Foot in 2020 before he became just the 23rd player to have won twice when he finished one stroke ahead of Rory McIlroy in 2024.
In recent outings however, DeChambeau has struggled to produce his best golf at the most critical moments - missing the cut at both The Masters and PGA Championship in what has been a turbulent start to year.
Ahead of the action at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club this week, the polarising star acknowledged his recent struggles on social media.
“Like this post if you think I’m going to make my first cut,” DeChambeau wrote to his 4.5million followers on Instagram.
In the lead-up to the tournament the American was asked if his disappointing recent performances had led to him feeling extra pressure to make the cut this week.
"No. To be honest, missed cuts are gonna happen. I might miss all four of them in majors this year. That’s just golf,” DeChambeau said on Flushing It.
"Like, I’m playing great. I just haven’t shown up when it mattered most."
"I've played well out here on LIV, and I’m working on my golf swing really hard, and, I feel like it's in a really solid place. It's very close to some of my best golf ever."
DeChambeau will tee off with Viktor Hovland and Matt Fitzpatrick as he attempts to claim his third gold medal, with the group teeing off at 18:25 BST on Thursday (13:25 EDT local time).
