Bournemouth are closing in on the appointment of Marco Rose as the club's new manager following the news that Andoni Iraola will leave at the end of the season.
The Cherries had been looking to secure a contract extension with the popular Iraola who has done an excellent job on the south coast.
Iraola arrived at the club in June 2023 and has led the club to finishes of 12th and 9th over the last two seasons.
With Bournemouth 11th in the table ahead of their final six Premier League fixtures, the club announced that Iraola would be leaving the club next month.
While Iraola has been linked with a number of positions, Bournemouth have moved quick to secure his successor in the form of German manager Rose.
The likes of Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna and Rayo Vallecano's Inigo Perez were believed to be amongst the contenders to be the next Bournemouth manager prior to the move for Rose.
The 49-year-old has been without a club since he was dismissed as RB Leipzig manager in March 2025.
He has also managed Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach and Red Bull Salzburg during his career and he provides a wealth of experience.
Rose has been linked with various Premier League positions in recent months and his imminent arrival is a significant coup for ambitious Bournemouth.
The German manager likes his teams to work hard without the ball and he encourages pressing all over the pitch to stifle the opposition.
The combination of fluid attacking play and being renowned for defensive organisation should endear him to supporters at the Vitality Stadium as they look forward to a new era.
