The Belmont Stakes takes place at Saratoga for just the third time in its 158-year history this weekend.
Usually ran at Belmont Park, the race has moved away from its usual home due to ongoing construction work at the track. Virtue of the race standing as the final leg of the American Triple Crown, its roll of honour is littered with household names.
Whilst there is no Triple Crown hopeful in this field, we do have Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo (13/2) in action.
Cherie DeVaux opted to swerve the Preakness Stakes with her stable star but he bids for yet more Classic glory this weekend.
Despite landing the 'Run for the Roses', the Curlin colt finds himself as far back as fifth in the betting heading into the weekend.
Current favourite for the race is Kentucky Derby runner-up Renegade (6/4). Trained by Todd Pletcher, he was far more fancied heading into Churchill Downs than the eventual winner and was beaten just a neck, despite being hampered soon after the start.
Also among the market principles are the fourth, seventh and 10th from the opening US Classic of the season.
Chief Wallabe (9/2), Commandment (13/2) and Emerging Market (11/2) were all inconvenienced by the way the race was ran during the first weekend of May and should be seen to better effect here.
