Harry Kane has added another record to his illustrious collection after netting his 100th Bundesliga goal in Bayern Munich's fixture against Union Berlin.
The England captain and Ballon d'Or favourite reached the landmark figure in just 98 matches, obliterating the previous record of 129 appearances to achieve a century of goals in Germany's top-flight, which was set by FC Köln's Dieter Müller in 1977.
Kane then notched his 101st Bundesliga goal in the second half as Bayern put Union Berlin to the sword in a 7-0 demolition at the Allianz Arena.
Kane's prolificness is showing little sign of slowing down after the striker scored 36 goals in his debut Bundesliga campaign, 26 in 2024/25 and 35 last season, and the 33-year-old has five goals in seven appearances in all competitions this term.
Kane's record for Bayern now stands at 151 goals in 154 appearances. He scored 35 league goals last term and 61 in all competitions. Add in his 12 goals for England, the former Tottenham Hotspur marksman netted 73 goals for club and country in a mesmerising season.
It's why Kane heads the betting for the Ballon d'Or, ahead of World Cup victor Lamine Yamal, 2024 winner Rodri and France superstar Kylian Mbappé, who has rewrote the World Cup goalscoring charts alongside Lionel Messi.
Reflecting on the previous 12 months, Kane told Marca: "I've never liked to talk about myself too much. The only thing I would say is that last season was incredible, on a personal level and as a team. It was, by far, the best season of my life.
"It's true that to finish on 73 goals, the second-highest tally in history, speaks for itself. I'm extremely proud of that. I can only thank my teammates and everyone who has helped me to make that possible.
"But the Ballon d'Or is not in my hands. It depends on the people that vote. From my point of view, last season is in the past. I'm now focused on this one and I'm eager to see what else I can achieve.
"I know that people are going to speak a lot about the Ballon d'Or until October, because it's a big award."
As the Ballon d'Or debate rumbles on, it's important to appreciate Kane's staggering goal returns when he's not a centre-forward in the traditional sense. His heatmap tells the story. Instead of loitering on the shoulder of the last defender, he drops deep, draws defenders out of position, and plays precise diagonal balls like a quarterback.
Brought in as a goalscorer who would fill the void of Robert Lewandowski, Kane offers Bayern so much more.
He went to Bayern without a trophy. That narrative followed him across the Channel like a shadow. Then came the DFB-Pokal — his first major honour, finally, at 31, and then the flurry of league titles. Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern is not a staggering achievement by any stretch of the imagination, but Kane was an integral component in Vincent Kompany's side romping to the title in comprehensive fashion.
His presence might not have yielded UEFA Champions League honours, nor did it inspire England to World Cup glory - many might blame Thomas Tuchel for that - and yet it's hard to suggest any player in the world has enjoyed a better individual year than Kane.
The numbers speak for themselves, and the record books continue to be refined.
