The Bahrain Darts Masters is a relatively recent addition to the World Series of Darts and now kicks off the post World Darts Championship proceedings each calendar year.
Staged early in January, just a couple of weeks following the conclusion of the Alexandra Palace spectacular, the competition was formed in 2003 and offers eight of the PDC's finest the opportunity to signal their early season intentions in the World Series.
Michael Smith was the inaugural winner in 2023, seeing off Gerwyn Price in the Middle East heat, before Luke Littler, fresh from his remarkable run to the final of the World Championship, landed his maiden PDC professional title in 2024.
