Discover the previous singles winners of the ATP Finals since its inception in 1970.
First held all the way back in December 1970, for more than half a century the ATP Finals has long served as a way of bringing down the curtain on the tennis season.
In the inaugural edition, American Stan Smith was crowned champion after finishing top in a six-man round robin format. The two-time Grand Slam winner took home $15,000 in prize money for his victory at the Tokyo Metropolitan Stadium.
Since then the ATP Finals has continued to go from strength to strength, and is recognised as the most prestigious non-major event in the tennis calendar.
Novak Djokovic holds the record for the most singles titles, with his win in 2023 marking his seventh triumph and making him the oldest champion in the competition's history.
Meanwhile, Roger Federer has six wins from a record 17 appearances to his name, while Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras are joint-third with five wins each.
The competition also boasts the second-largest prize pot in tennis history. An undefeated champion in 2025 will walk away with $5,071,000. (£3.8m)
