The World Athletics Championships 2025 are taking place from Saturday 13th September until Sunday 21st September.
The event is being staged in Tokyo, Japan. It is the third time that the championships will be held in Japan, following the 1991 event in Tokyo at the former National Stadium, and the 2007 event in Osaka.
This time around, the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo is the venue. It was purpose built for the 2020 Summer Olympics and is located in Kasumigaoka-machi, Shinjuku in Tokyo. For athletics events, the stadium is expected to hold a 67,750 capacity.
There are 49 gold medals up for grabs over nine days in Tokyo across a variety of disciplines in track and field. Below are some of the key events to look out for, including when the heats and finals are expected to take place.
