The pair are set to contest one of the most talked about bouts in modern-day boxing history with two-time champion of the world Joshua the huge odds-on favourite to inflict a second career defeat upon social media sensation turned profession boxer Paul.

The fight represents a significant step-up in quality for American star Paul, whose only previous professional loss came at the hands of cruiserweight contender Tommy Fury - the half-brother of Tyson Fury.

He was last in action against blue-riband division great 'Iron' Mike Tyson just over 12 months ago, a fight in which he laboured to a points success over the 58-year-old in.

AJ, meanwhile has been inactive for the best part of 15 months, having been emphatically beaten by former IBF title-holder Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

He is keen to ignite a charge for a third world championship reign in the new year however, and has successfully made his contracted 245lbs weight for this weekend's bout, coming in at 243.4lbs in Florida.

It means the Matchroom man will be stepping through the ropes the lightest he has been since his fight with Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022.

He does however still possess a significant size and weight advantage over Paul, who has tipped the scales at a surprising 216.4lbs, significantly lighter than he was against Tyson 12 months ago.

It had been expected the Ohio-native would come in around the 225lbs mark, in and around the 227lbs he weighed in his last fight, however his decision to come in lighter suggests he will look to utilise his expected speed advantage around the over-sized ring.

Joshua hasn't fought in the United States since being shockingly beaten by Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019, a night in which he succumbed to a first career loss.

He will be hoping to ensure that lighting doesn't strike twice Stateside in around 24 hours time.
