The news that Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul have agreed a money-spinning showdown for December has sent shockwaves through the boxing world, but will be the bout be professionally sanctioned or staged as an exhibition fight?
Well, it's been confirmed that the dust-up will indeed be officially sanctioned, meaning the fight will go on the professional records of both fighters.
Paul was, of course, originally scheduled to be fighting lightweight world champion Gervonta 'Tank' Davis this past weekend in an exhibition bout, only for the event to be cancelled just weeks from fight night.
However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has since turned his attention to heavyweight star Joshua, with terms for the shock Netflix-staged event being thrashed out over the weekend before being officially announced on Monday.
The fight, which is set to be staged at the Kaseya Centre in South Florida, will take place over eight three-minute rounds, the same amount of rounds that Paul fought Mike Tyson over last year.
On that occasion each of the rounds consisted of just two minutes as opposed to the standard three.
Joshua, of course, heads into the bout as the far more experienced fighter having undertaken 32 professional fights, winning 28 of them whilst being beaten in four.
Paul, who has previously turned his hand to WWE and MMA, has fought in 13 officially sanctioned boxing bouts, with the sole loss of his career coming at the hands of British cruiserweight Tommy Paul - the younger half-brother of Tyson Fury - in February 2023.
More details surrounding the bout will be announced at the first official pre-fight press conference on Friday (21st November, 2025).
