Contenders to sign Alejandro Garnacho; Chelsea open to sale

Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly set to leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window after just one season with the club.

The Argentine endured a tough debut campaign in West London, struggling to become a mainstay in the starting XI and scoring just once in 24 top-flight appearances.

The 22-year-old is unlikely to play a starring role at Stamford Bridge under the stewardship of Xabi Alonso, and with Garnacho seeking regular first team football, the club have opened the doors to an exit.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea value the winger at '€50m for clubs abroad' and a slightly higher '£45m' for Premier League outfits.

With that said, we take a look at where Garnacho could be plying his trade next season.

Roma

Roma are amongst the clubs credited with interest in Garnacho, though it's thought that Chelsea's demands could prove a stumbling block in their pursuit for the winger.

The Serie A outfit are keen on signing the former Manchester United man on an initial loan deal, but Romano reported that the six-time top-flight winners 'insist' on a permanent exit to start discussions.

Roma will be playing UEFA Champions League football in the 2026/27 term after finishing third in Italy's top-flight last season, a potentially enticing factor for Garnacho -- who would not be playing in Europe should he stay at Chelsea.

Napoli

While Napoli haven't been linked to Garnacho so far this window, they were strong suitors to secure the forward's signature last summer and could be keen to reignite their interest in the 22-year-old.

Man Utd's €50m request proved more than what Gli Azzurri were willing to pay last summer, and so -- after a difficult campaign for the 22-year-old -- you'd suspect that they wouldn't be willing to match the same demands this time round.

With both Garnacho and Chelsea open to the player's departure in the early stages of the window however, it's thought that the fee could be negotiated and this could tempt Napoli into returning to the table.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid were mentioned as potential suitors for Garnacho last summer, unsurprisingly so given the Argentine's history with the club.

He joined the club's youth setup in 2015 from Getafe, where he impressed in the academy before making the £420,000 switch to Man Utd at just 16-years-old in 2020.

Atletico have a strong Argentine contingent -- with Julian Alvarez and Nahuel Molina amongst their La Albiceleste representatives -- and so Garnacho could prove a fitting addition.
