Karim Adeyemi looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports.
The 24-year-old was one of Europe's most exciting prospects when he made the move to BVB from RB Salzburg in 2022 and, whilst he is yet to truly hit his huge ceiling, he could still yet develop into a leading talent.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Adeyemi has agreed personal terms with Barcelona after the Spanish giants launched a bid to sign the German forward.
"BREAKING: Karim Adeyemi agreed terms with Barcelona and informed BVB he only wants Barça move," Romano shared on his X account.
"Adeyemi, out of contract in June 2027 and not planning to sign new deal. Barcelona sent an official bid to BVB to get Adeyemi now, working to get it done."
The Germany international signed for Dortmund for €30m in the summer of 2022 and has scored 36 times in just shy of 150 appearances for the eight-time Bundesliga champions. Whilst injury problems have halted some of his progress, Adeyemi has struggled to deliver consistently for the Black & Yellows.
Last season, Adeyemi was used a lot from the bench, starting just 15 Bundesliga matches. Despite this, only Maximillian Beier and Serhou Guirassy scored more times for Dortmund.
Adeyemi has been used predominantly off the right in recent seasons, but he is able to operate on either flank and can work centrally, behind a striker.
It's hard to envisage him being a first choice forward at Barca given the presence of Lamine Yamal, Anthony Gordon and Raphinha, however, with Marcus Rashford will not being heading back to the Camp Nou next season, there should be plenty of minutes available across the course of a full campaign.
