Since the beginning of the Open Era, American women have won the US Open singles title 25 times, more than any other Grand Slam tournament. Chris Evert and Serena Williams currently share the record for the most US Open titles by an American woman, with six each.

Three American women remain in the 2026 US Open, Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro will face each other in the quarterfinals, while Coco Gauff is set to play Mirra Andreeva.

Coco Gauff is the most recent American champion at the US Open, following her 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ayna Sabalenka in 2023.

There have been 10 all-American women's finals in the tournament's history. The most recent encoutner was the 2017 clash between Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys, which was the the first all-American final since 2002.

An all-American women's final at the 2026 US Open remains a possibility. Coco Gauff is on one side of the draw, and Jessica Pegula and with Emma Navarro facing off in the quarterfinals on the other - the opportunity is there. If Gauff advances to the final and the winner of Pegula vs. Navarro reaches the final, it would set up an all-American showdown for the 2026 title.
