UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Duncan: betting picks and predictions

Over 2.5 rounds (-160)

Both Allen (27-7-0) and Duncan (15-2-0) arrive here in good form.

Allen is on a three-fight win streak, beating Marvin Vettori (UD), Reinier de Ridder (R4, TKO), and most recently Edmen Shahbazyan (UD) in June.

The American bounced back from two successive losses against top contenders Nassourdine Imavov (UD) in late 2024 and Anthony Hernandez (UD) in early 2025.

Before that, the now-31-year-old forced his way into the top 10 after an impressive seven-fight win streak, including five rear-naked-choke submissions.

Duncan is on a five-fight win streak, including the biggest victory of his career last time out, a unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier in July.

He added victories over Andrey Pulyaev (UD), Eryk Anders (R1, TKO), Marco Tulio (R2, TKO), and Roman Dolidze (UD) as the impressive Brit steadily climbed the rankings after bouncing back from a momentum-stunting defeat to Gregory Rodrigues in Manchester in 2024.

The 31-year-old brings an attractive switch-striking style to the Octagon and has a four-inch reach advantage over his opponent.

Allen doesn't possess the same striking talent but is a relentless competitor, with good cardio and grappling.

The result in this fight is likely to be decided on whether CLD can keep the fight standing, or whether Allen can impose his grappling.

While this is Duncan's first UFC main event slot, this will be Allen's third with the American unbeaten when scheduled for the 25-minute distance, recording wins over Paul Craig (R3, Sub), Chris Curtis (SD) and De Ridder (R4, TKO).

While most of both men's Octagon careers have been contested over three rounds, the average UFC fight time of 11:19 (Allen) and 10:33 (Duncan) shows they can go the distance.

Brendan Allen to win (-130)

Duncan can pose a serious threat as long as he keeps this fight standing.

However, Allen is scrappy and while his grappling may not produce prolonged spells of control time, particularly at the elite level, he is most definitely a rhythm breaker.

Duncan will likely be able to control the early part of the fight, particularly if he can use his kicking game to maintain distance.

The American will likely find his way into the clinch, possibly after a striking mistake if CLD gets overconfident.

If Allen can make this a war of attrition, it could be a difficult night for the Englishman as we head towards the championship rounds and his explosiveness starts to fade.

Allen may be the younger man, but this will be his 20th Octagon walk, with this Duncan's 11th.

The 30-year-old has the cardio and experience to survive his opponents' most dangerous early spell and grind out a win down the stretch.
