With the 2026 NFL season is on the horizon, we take a look at the top 10 wide receivers in the league before the season officially kicks off.

Wide receivers are some of the most important players on an NFL, because the really great ones can make a mediocre quarterback look competent. With defensive schemes becoming increasingly complex, the ability to create separation, secure contested catches, and turn short gains into explosive touchdowns is what separates the good from the truly elite.

All 10 players below have an elite combination of these skills, and make catching passes look easy.

1. Ja'Marr Chase

Team: Cincinnati Bengals
Age: 26

Ja'Marr Chase remains the premier wide receiver entering the 2026 NFL season, despite an underwhelming 2025 campaign in which he finished third in receptions (125) and fourth in receiving yards (1,412).

Chase produced these impressive figures while playing only six full games with Joe Burrow at quarterback. Although he spent the majority of the season catching passes from Joe Flacco and Jake Browning, he consistently managed to outmanoeuvre opposing defenders.

The LSU product is a versatile receiver with elite speed and route-running ability, capable of breaking away for an 80-yard touchdown on any given play. Chase’s 6,837 receiving yards rank second all-time for a player within their first five NFL seasons, trailing only his former LSU teammate, Justin Jefferson.

In addition, Chase has the most 40+ yard touchdowns in the NFL (19) since he made his debut in 2019.

2. Puka Nacua

Team: Los Angeles Rams
Age: 25

Despite some controversial stories surrounding Puka Nacua over the past year, he remains one of the best receivers in the NFL when on the field.

Puka led the league in receptions (129) and receiving yards per game (107.2) in 2025. He is the NFL's all-time leader in receiving yards per game (95.3) just three seasons into his career, having tallied 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025.

The Los Angeles Rams selected Nacua in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and the wideout made an immediate impact. He won Rookie of the Year in his debut season and has since become Matthew Stafford's favourite target in a loaded offence.

Nacua is a 'pit bull' of a wide receiver, and his physical toughness is evident on every play. He is an excellent route runner who is also elite after the catch, as he runs through contact rather than avoiding it.

3. Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Team: Seattle Seahawks
Age: 24

In 2025, Jaxon Smith-Njigba exploded into a superstar wide receiver, leading the NFL in receiving yards (1,793) and finding the end zone 10 times. He helped the Seattle Seahawks win the franchise's second Super Bowl and won the Offensive Player of the Year award, yet he is ranked as the third-best wide receiver heading into the 2026 season.

While JSN lacks explosive straight-line speed, he possesses exceptional acceleration in tight areas and a knack for finding soft spots in coverage, which makes him elite in the slot. The primary criticism of the 24-year-old is that he lacks the speed and size to be a top-tier weapon on the outside.

In March of this year, JSN signed a record-breaking $168.6 million deal, making him the highest-paid offensive non-quarterback in the NFL and surpassing Chase's record-setting $161 million contract

4. Justin Jefferson

Team: Minnesota Vikings
Age: 27

"Jettas" had a down year by his standards in 2025, largely due to a horrendous Minnesota Vikings offense. However, Jefferson still hauled in 84 catches for over 1,048 yards while catching passes from J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and Max Brosmer.

With those three quarterbacks under center, Minnesota recorded the fourth-fewest passing yards and seventh-fewest points per game in the NFL last season.

Following the arrival of Kyler Murray, Jefferson should receive a significant boost in production. With Kevin O'Connell able to work with Kyler throughout the summer, he will surely be able to get Jettas the ball further down the field than last season's quarterbacks could.

Jefferson is the fastest player in NFL history to reach 5,000 career receiving yards (52 games) and holds the record for the most receiving yards through a player's first five seasons (7,432 yards).

5. Amon-Ra St. Brown

Team: Detroit Lions
Age: 26

Amon-Ra St. Brown has been one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL in the past three seasons, but he has not displayed dominant one-on-one ability to move ahead of Chase, Nacua, Smith-Njigba, or Jefferson.

The Detroit Lions wide receiver has only missed two games in his five-year career, and has put up three consecutive seasons of 1,200+ receiving yards and 10+ touchdowns. In 2025, he racked up 1,401 yards (fifth most in NFL) and 11 touchdowns (second most in NFL).

Amon-Ra is an well rounded wide receiver with precise route running ability. He is capable of operating both in the slot and on the outside in the versatile Lions offense.

Still just 26-years-old, Amon-Ra is is in the midst of his prime and is showing no signs of slowing down on an offense that should receive a slight boost as Drew Petzing takes over for John Morton as the offensive coordinator.

6. Ceedee Lamb

Team: Dallas Cowboys
Age: 27

Ceedee Lamb is coming off his worst statistical season since his rookie year in 2020, but much of that can be chalked up to an early-season ankle injury which saw him miss three games, and linger for many more.

Even in his worst season in five years, Lamb hauled in 75 catches for 1,077 yards. While Lamb's receptions dropped under 100 for the first time since 2021, he had the highest average yards per catch (14.4 yards) of his career.

Lamb is a fluid playmaker with elite body control who makes creating separation against man coverage look effortless. Weighing in under 200 pounds, Lamb has the speed and elusiveness of a slot receiver, but his 6' 2" frame also helps him win on the outside.

Lamb's 571 catches are the fifth most in the NFL since he joined the league, and already the third most in Dallas Cowboys history. Lamb passed Dez Bryant last season to move into third all-time for the historic franchise.

7. George Pickens

Team: Dallas Cowboys
Age: 25

The only player with more receiving yards for the Cowboys than Lamb in 2025 was No. 7 on this list, George Pickens.

With Lamb on the sidelines for Weeks 3, 4, and 5, Pickens developed into one of the best wide receivers in the league. In those three games, Pickens caught 19 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 119.66 yards and 1.33 touchdowns per game.

Over the entire 2025 season—Pickens's first in Dallas—the 25-year-old caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

Pickens uses his big frame (6' 3") to establish himself as one of the best contested-catch receivers in the NFL. He combines strength, speed, jumping ability, and body control to possess one of the largest catch radii in the league, and is always a candidate to 'Moss' opposing defenders in jump-ball situations.

8. Drake London

Team: Atlanta Falcons
Age: 24

Drake London has been one of the more promising wide receivers in the NFL since he was drafted eighth overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, but with inconsistent and poor quarterback play he has not quite reached his potential.

London has shown flashes of why he's was a top 10 pick in the draft, using his 6' 4" frame to become one of the best contested-catch specialists in the NFL.

London missed five games in 2025, and in the eight games that he played with Michael Penix Jr. as the starting quarterback, he averaged 96 receiving yards per game, and scored six touchdowns.

As seen with Justin Jefferson, quarterback play can significantly impact a wide receiver's production. In a full season with either Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa slinging the ball, London should have a great statistical year in 2026.

9. A.J. Brown

Team: New England Patriots
Age: 29

A.J. Brown has recently been traded to the New England Patriots from the Philadelphia Eagles, and he'll now be catching passes from one of the best deep-ball passers in the NFL, Drake Maye.

Drake Maye is likely going to be the best quarterback that Brown has played with since being drafted in 2019, and he'll also be reuniting with his former head coach Mike Vrabel. Vrabel and Maye are expected to get the very best out of Brown, who uses his physical prowess to dominate opposing defensive backs.

The Patriots will be able to find Brown deep along the sidelines thanks to Maye's deep-ball accuracy, and Vrabel could also scheme him into the slot to utilize the 29-years-old college skillset that the Eagles strayed away from.

In Brown's seven seasons in the NFL, he has put up over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns in six times.

10. Chris Olave

Team: New Orleans Saints
Age: 26

Chris Olave is coming off the best statistical season of his career, and will look to build on his chemistry with second-year quarterback Tyler Shough in 2026.

The 26-year-old receiver caught 100 passes for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025 (all career highs) with the New Orleans Saints.

Olave is a fluid route-runner who makes creating separation look easy. Unfortunately, injuries have hampered the former Ohio State product which has hurt his stats season over season. When watching Olave, it's clear why he's in the conversation for top 10 wide receivers in the NFL entering 2026.
