Week 6 of the 2026 college football season is headlined in part by a showdown in the SEC between the Texas A&M Aggies and Missouri Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
Texas A&M hopes to avoid what would be its third loss in the conference, while Missouri looks to build on a big win over Florida.
This marks the Tigers' second straight home game, after knocking off Florida 45-17 at Memorial Stadium in Columbia last Saturday. Missouri is 1-1 in the SEC, after losing to Mississippi State in Week 4. Texas A&M is 1-2 in the conference but stopped a two-game skid by beating Arkansas last weekend.
With Saturday's game set for 12:00 pm ET on ABC, it's time to break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.
Before last week, Florida, fresh off a drubbing of Ole Miss, was the toast of college football town. Missouri, meanwhile, had lost nine straight games to ranked opponents. None of that mattered, however, as the Tigers hammered the Gators from start to finish.
Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, bringing his 2026 passing total to 13 TDs and zero interceptions. Running back Jamal Roberts went wild for 211 yards and three touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, head coach Eli Drinkwitz's squad limited Florida to a mere 42 rushing yards.
The Tigers climbed to No. 14 in the AP poll, but Texas A&M fell out of the rankings after losses to Kentucky (31-21) and LSU (35-6). Although the game against Kentucky was more competitive, it was especially alarming given that it was at home as a heavy favorite
The Aggies have had inconsistent quarterback play from Marcel Reed, and their defense hasn't stepped up like it did in 2025. Reed has been picked off four times through five games and is averaging fewer than 200 yards per contest.
This is not a favorable matchup for Texas A&M's offense. Missouri boasts one of the best run defenses in college football, conceding only 2.6 yards per carry (12th fewest nationally). Florida had negative 21 rushing yards going into the fourth quarter last weekend.
If Reed does not have a running game to rely on, he will be expected to create more offensive chances by himself. In that case, turnover-worthy plays are usually the result. The senior out of Nashville will likely be under pressure, too. The Tigers have already recorded 15 sacks, with Daeden Hopkins delivering six on his own. They have also made four interceptions and have forced five fumbles, recovering three.
The Aggies have defeated three opponents (Missouri State, Arizona State, and Arkansas) for a combined five wins. In their two losses against stiffer competition, they scored a grand total of 27 points (21 against Kentucky and six against LSU). Head coach Mike Elko's crew finished with only 197 total yards in their loss to LSU.
All things considered, the under looks like the way to go.
There are, however, reasons for optimism when it comes to Horton's productivity.
The Aggies' senior wide receiver comes in with 17 receptions for 247 yards and three touchdowns. He found the endzone twice against Arizona State and then gained 61 yards on five catches at Kentucky's expense.
As mentioned above, Missouri's run defense is incredible. However, the Tigers are more generous through the air. They have surrendered 231.2 yards per game through the air on 7.0 yards per pass attempt. Reed will have to air it out early and often, too, if his team, as anticipated, is playing from behind.
