Rybakina enters her match against Swiatek on the back of a high-level season. In Cincinnati, she defeated Magdalena Frech before eliminating Shnaider in the round of 16. The showdown with Swiatek marks her third major consecutive challenge, following her title in Stuttgart and the final in Canada.

The last meeting between these two players is still fresh in memory. Just a few days ago, Swiatek and Rybakina faced off in the WTA 1000 final in Toronto. The Pole dominated the match, winning 6-2, 6-3 to claim her first title of the season. Rybakina will now have an immediate opportunity to avenge that loss.
