There is always a degree of edge when the Lakers and Clippers go toe to toe, even in the Summer League, and even in neutral Las Vegas.
So expect a decent encounter featuring a lot of players determined to make names for themselves - and trust the Lakers to defy the odds to go 3-0.
No one would make the mistake of overstating the results or performances at the Vegas Summer League, but whatever your slant on it few would argue the Lakers have looked good.
Adou Thiero scored 20 points backed up by Cameron Carr (18) and Anton Watson (15) as the Lakers kicked off their Vegas stay with a 96-84 success over OKC.
They were 54 per cent shooting and almost matched that with 51 per cent from the floor a night later when they beat the Mavericks 91-70.
This time Arthur Kaluma took centre stage with 34 points including, 6-of-10 from three-range, with Peter Suder weighing in with 14 points off the bench as the Lakers went 2-0.
If the Lakers are all-in for the Summer League championship then those are two statement successes and suggest they will be seriously up for this shot at the Clippers.
And they cannot afford to back off anyway, especially with No.5 overall pick Keaton Wagler starring.
Wagler looked a bag of nerves on his Clippers' debut, shooting 1-for-7 in Friday's loss to Sacramento.
But he kept his counsel as fans wrote him off and hit right back with a 23-point night on Monday as the Clippers demolished Utah 104-82.
Baba Miller had 10 rebounds, Cam Christie nine as LA outmuscled Jazz on the boards and all in all it was a wholesale improvement.
It's an intriguing battle though not always easy to read depending on who suits up.
The numbers over the weekend, however, suggest the Lakers are being overpriced at +140.
Summer League is all about getting players out of the gym and on to court and it follows improvements should evolve.
That certainly looks the case with both these two teams who were excellent last time, the Clippers beating Utah by 22 points and the Lakers bopping the Mavs by 21.
Offensive riddles are being solved and that should add up to an entertaining encounter.
The Lakers are averaging 93.5 points so far, the Clippers 94.5, so go over the points line of 179.5 at -115
