Spain vs. Saudi Arabia Odds, Picks & Predictions

Spain huffed and they puffed yet couldn't break through a stubborn Cape Verde defence during their opening match at the World Cup.

In the end, La Roja registered 27 shots across the 90 minutes, forcing goalkeeper Vozinha into making seven saves, while the European side also held 74% possession in what was an utterly dominate display.

A couple of goals were the only things missing and this is something the Spanish will look to remedy against Saudi Arabia.

The Arabian Falcons came close to opening up their World Cup campaign with a victory, with Uruguay needing a late goal to salvage a point in Miami.

A win for either side should be more than enough to send either side through to the knockout stages from Group H.

Spain vs. Saudi Arabia betting picks and predictions

Over 2.5 goals (-200)

That goalless draw against Cape Verde was an anomaly. Across Spain's 10 previous matches prior to that first World Cup game, three or more goals were scored in seven of those.

For Saudi Arabia, three or more goals have been scored in four of their last six international matches, with only one finishing with fewer than two goals.

La Roja know that three points is imperative if they wish to top the group, especially considering Uruguay, the most difficult opponents on paper, await in matchday three.

As such, expect there to be plenty of goals in this game as Spain head coach Luis De Le Fuente looks to get his team back to winning ways and with Lamine Yamal tipped to return to the starting XI.

Mikel Oyarzabal to score anytime (-150)

I had high hopes for Mikel Oyarzabal heading into the clash against Cape Verde. It appeared as though he could open his World Cup account against the group minnows, giving him confidence to perhaps aim for the Golden Boot.

He registered one shot on target during that game, but De Le Fuente should give him another chance against the Saudis.

This is a forward who has scored 25 goals in 54 appearances for Spain. Someone who has netted against the likes of Germany, France and the Netherlands, while even scoring the winner in the Euro 2024 final against England.

Oyarzabal won't be deterred by failing to score against Cape Verde, especially coming up against a defence that has conceded nine goals in the last six games.

Expect the Real Sociedad frontman will grab his first World Cup goal in Atlanta on Sunday evening.

Both teams to score (+200)

This is certainly a longshot, but Saudi Arabia will have taken plenty of confidence form their draw against Uruguay and that might just give them some added impetus against Spain.

Remember, La Roja have conceded cheap goals in recent weeks. Peru managed to score against the Spanish, as did Iraq in the World Cup warm-up matches.

The Arab nation have also scored at least once in four of their previous five World Cup matches, including two in their stunning victory over Argentina four years ago.

There will be no pressure on them to get anything from this match, so backing both teams to score could be worth taking on.
