The final week of the NFL Preseason is set for this weekend, which sees every team in action, and one of these games is a matchup between Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
This game between the Seahawks and the Chiefs is scheduled for Friday, August 28 and has an expected kick-off time of 8:00 PM ET.
It is being played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri and will be broadcast on ESPN Unlimited.
Our best bet for this game targets the under. Considering that we are now in Week 3 of the preseason, there is almost no chance that the starters will be playing for either team.
That leaves the backups, the third stringers, and maybe players even lower on the depth chart carrying the bulk of this game.
To that point, what we have seen from these players has not been the prettiest. Both the Chiefs and Seahawks have seen their first two preseason games go under the total for starters.
For Kansas City, their Week 1 preseason game ended in a 20-12 loss to Los Angeles Rams, while their Week 2 preseason game ended in a 16-15 defeat to Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Across these two games, the Chiefs have scored a grand total of one touchdown, with seven field goals. Further, they are averaging 13.5 points per game across the preseason, which is about what we should expect here against Seattle.
As for Seattle, their Week 1 preseason game ended in a 17-7 loss to Dallas Cowboys, while their Week 2 preseason game ended in a 19-16 reverse to Tennessee Titans.
The Seahawks have been a little more productive offensively compared to the Chiefs, having scored three touchdowns and one field goal across the preseason. That said, Seattle is still averaging just 11.5 points per game.
Given that neither team wants to risk any injury and given that they both have shown very little offense, backing under 36.5 total points is our best bet.
Our second pick for this game looks for Kansas City to win. While both the Seahawks and the Chiefs are 0-2 in the preseason, the latter have still played more consistently.
Granted, both teams are allowing an average of 18.0 points per game, but as mentioned previously, the Chiefs are averaging more points compared to the Seahawks.
Most of these points have come from the leg of Harrison Butker, as they have just one touchdown.
That said, the Chiefs are averaging 274.0 yards of total offense per game, while the Seahawks are averaging 203.5 yards of offense over their two games.
Ultimately, this game looks to be a coin flip, however, because the Chiefs have been more efficient offensively, backing the Chiefs to win is our play.
