Patrick Mahomes has been the quarterback for Kansas City Chiefs for nine seasons, and it appears Kansas City has no plans to move on from the face of its franchise anytime soon.
The Chiefs are adding two years to Patrick Mahomes contract in a reworked deal that keeps him in Kansas City through 2033.
The new money is worth $239.05 million, bringing the total value $504.75 million, making it the first contract in NFL history to surpass the half-billion dollar mark.
The first four years of the reworked contract will be fully guaranteed at signing, with all $504.75 million protected through various contract mechanisms.
Mahomes can increase the value of the deal to as much as $522.25 million through performance incentives and escalators. Beginning in 2027, the new agreement will take effect and average $64 million per year.
Since becoming the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, Patrick Mahomes has led the team to seven consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances, five Super Bowl appearances, and three Super Bowl victories.
This agreement further strengthens the Chief's long-term commitment to Mahomes, ensuring the franchise quarterback remains at the center of Kansas City's championship aspirations for years to come.
