Read all you need to know about American gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles.
Chiles, one of five members of Team USA women's gymnastics at the 2024 Olympics, earned a gold medal in Paris.
Chiles was born on April 15, 2001 and is currently 23 years old.
Jordan Chiles is listed at 4-foot-11.
Chiles was born in Tualatin, Oregon, and grew up in Vancouver, Washington.
In 2019, she moved to Spring, Texas to train alongside Simone Biles at the World Champions Centre and resides in Los Angeles, California, having attending college at UCLA.
Although not officially confirmed, sources suggest Chiles has a net worth of between $1 million and $5 million in 2024.
Chiles was originally due to feature in the vault and floor exercises in the team event but stepped in to compete on the uneven bars and balance beam following Biles' withdrawal.
She excelled in both latter disciplines but struggled on the floor, falling on her third pass as Team USA eventually won silver.
Chiles won her first ever Olympic gold with Team USA in the women’s all-around team event in Paris.
The Americans finished atop the podium with a total score of 171.296, nearly six points more than second-place finishers Italy.
Chiles will compete in artistic gymnastics in Paris.
Chiles' versatility and all-around excellence mean she will represent USA in the Team event and will be hoping to help them improve on their silver in Tokyo.
The USA won gold at both the 2022 World Championships and 2023 Pan American Games but inconsistency seems to be an issue for all of the leading nations and France could prove major rivals as the host nation has often surpassed expectations, such as winning a medal at the 2023 Worlds.
Chiles is set to compete in the All-Around after placing third to Biles in the Core Hydration Classic and then fifth in the National Championships. Her third at the Olympic Trials earned her qualification.
She could finish only 40th in Tokyo, and should improve on this result in Paris but there could be an issue. With only two competitors from each nation allowed through to the final and assuming Biles qualifes, one of Chiles and defending champion Suni Lee will miss out.
The 23-year-old was second on the vault at the Trials to earn qualification. She won gold in the discipline at the 2021 Winter Cup and was fourth at US Nationals in May.
However, the USA has better options, with Biles and 2022 world champion Jade Carey expected to be stronger.
Chiles struggled on the floor at the last Olympics but won silver at the 2022 Worlds and might upset the predicted Biles-Carey line-up in the final.
The latter is the defending champion after Biles won in 2016 but it is a packed field, with Brazil's Rebeca Andrade a likely rival for the States' stars.
Lee has admitted to targeting gold in this discipline, even if Biles is favorite.
That primes Chiles for an early departure and support duties, with this her weakest discipline, finishing only 11th at Trials.
