Panthers vs. Senators Predictions, Player Props & Best Bets

One of the most-anticipated meetings of the season has arrived, as Ottawa Senators host former captain Brady Tkachuk and his new team the Florida Panthers.

After major speculation about the eight-year Senator looking to jump ship, an offseason trade to Florida to play with his brother Matthew shocked the hockey world.

Now the focus shifts to the 2026-27 season and beyond and the only thing that matters is this game on Wednesday night at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.

We are here to provide our expert Panthers vs. Senators prediction and analysis for what will be an absolute tilt.

Panthers vs. Senators betting picks and predictions

Senators ML (-110)

The level of intensity and motivation the Senators will enter this game with cannot be understated.

Having their captain just up and leave them by trade has sparked a resilient mentality in the dressing room that has given them success so far this season. At 6-3-0, they are off to a nice start.

Florida comes into this one with a similar 5-2-2 record and are hot with a three-game winning streak.

However, I think they run into a wall here facing such a motivated team that will likely bring their best effort of the season.

Ottawa can match Florida's grittiness and physicality, which is how they can win this game, as offensive dominance isn't exactly their forte.

Another large factor for a Senators win comes in net, with Linus Ullmark leading the way.

He has been brilliant this season, with a 1.33 goals against average and .945 save percentage. He has arguably been the best goaltender in the entire league and Florida will not score easily if Ullmark can continue his success and step up to the plate.

Florida has one of the deepest teams in the league, but will be without Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand, two massive blows. This greatly evens the playing field for the Senators and, in what will be a roaring building in Tkachuk’s return, I see them giving their fans a win.

Over 5.5 (-120)

Both rosters are filled with offensive weapons and I expect this game to be an absolute shootout.

When looking at NHL statistics, you wouldn't see these two teams as offensive dynamos. However, stats don't tell the whole picture and each game scenario is different.

This game will be full of heart and soul, as each will look to fully blow the other out of the building.

Ottawa has a long list of capable scorers, but they are still waiting for some to show up this season. For example, Claude Giroux, Shane Pinto, and Dylan Cozens have combined for just two goals in 27 games, after combining for 65 last season.

What a time for them to break out and drive offense in this one.

As for Florida, they bring a much more balanced approach, with five players having 3+ goals.

The team has scored 3.33 goals per game this season and have produced a 20.9% rate on the power play and, even in a potential losing effort against a hot goaltender, I expect them to find some offense.

Tim Stutzle to score anytime (+210)

Senators forward Tim Stutzle is unequivocally the offensive leader on this team. He has accumulated five goals and 12 points in nine games this season, which is six more points than the next on the team.

As a young leader, Stutzle has led the way in shifting Ottawa's focus away from their former captain Tkachuk and he has let his on-ice performance do the talking as the team transitions.

He has shown he can now be the go-to on the team and I expect a highly motivated effort here.

Stutzle only averages 1.8 shots per game, but averages over 22 minutes of ice time per night - he will be heavily leaned on in an all-important contest.

He has scored 34+ goals in two of his last four seasons and gives no doubts of his offensive capabilities.
