The Cavaliers and Pistons return to Cleveland on Monday night, with Detroit holding a one-game advantage heading into Game 4.
A strong first half helped the Cavs win Game 3 on their home court Saturday night, to get themselves back in the series.
Home advantage could prove key again, in what is being built up as another battle between Donovan Mitchell and Cade Cunningham.
Kenny Atkinson’s men got off to a flying start in Game 3, taking a 16-point lead into the half-time break at the Rocket Arena.
Although the hosts struggled in and around the paint in the third quarter, they responded in the fourth to run out 116-109 winners.
Donovan Mitchell was the star of the show, with the seven-time NBA All-Star the only man on the court to rack up 30+ points, while the Cavs’ Shooting guard also claimed 10 rebounds and four assists.
Saturday’s result means that all three games have been won by the home team and it looks likely to be a similar story on Monday night.
With Mitchell shining and James Harden fit enough to spend 40 minutes on the court, the Cavs should have the firepower to see off Detroit again.
With Game 5 back in Michigan, the Pistons will fancy their chances of going back in front when you consider their home form this term. J.B Bickerstaff’s squad lost just nine of their 40 regular season games at the Little Caesars Arena.
It’s been a low-scoring series so far and there’s no reason to believe it won’t be a similar story in Game 4.
Neither team has scored 120+ points in this series matchup, with Cleveland’s 116 in Game 3 the highest total to date.
The 225 points scored in Game 3 were the only time the 213.0 target has been beaten in this series, while the regular-season matchups were also low on points.
In the previous four games between the two teams, only once did a team score 120+ points and that was in the Pistons’ overtime success in Detroit back in February.
The Cavs fans will be more upbeat about their team’s chances of making the Eastern Finals, considering Harden’s end to Game 3.
The 36-year-old is desperately seeking his first NBA title and the veteran showed he can still deliver at the very top level, after landing three big shots in the final quarter.
Harden finished Game 3 with 19 points and seven assists, with seven of those points coming in the last three minutes.
The former Clippers star was 8-14 for field-goal attempts on Saturday and a slight improvement on that could see him hit the 25.5 target.

Kevin Huerter and Caris LeVert are fitness concerns for coach Bickerstaff, with hip and heel problems, respectively.
Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris are looking to break Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal’s record for the most consecutive post-season games of teammates scoring 20+ points.
The Cavaliers report no injury concerns going into Game 4 and are expected to stick with the starting five that took to the court on Saturday.
The hosts seek a third straight home win over the Pistons this season, following their regular-season win at the Rocket Arena in March.
