Commanders vs. 49ers Predictions, Player Props & Best Bets

Week 6 concludes with a Monday Night Football showdown at Levi's Stadium as Washington Commanders travel to face the unbeaten San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers are the NFL's last three remaining undefeated teams after improving to 5-0 with a dramatic 32-29 victory over Seattle Seahawks last week.

Kyle Shanahan's side are beginning to establish themselves as the team to beat in the NFC and have also received encouraging injury news with fullback Kyle Juszczyk expected to return after a brief absence.

Leading rusher Christian McCaffrey and All-Pro offensive tackle Trent Williams finished the week as full participants in practice, but WR Deebo Samuel and DE Nick Bosa have both been ruled out.

Meanwhile, Washington heads west with a disappointing 1-3-1 record and sit at the bottom of the NFC East, although the return of quarterback Jayden Daniels has provided a welcome boost.

The Commanders have struggled defensively throughout the season, conceding 29.8 points per game, the worst mark in the NFL.

That is a worrying statistic ahead of a trip to face a San Francisco offense averaging 30.8 points per game, the third-best figure in the league.

Commanders vs. 49ers betting picks & predictions

49ers -7.5 (-108)

Everything points towards San Francisco being able to cover this number.

The 49ers have been one of the most complete teams in football through five weeks, combining an explosive offense with a defense that consistently creates pressure and forces mistakes.

While the absence of five-time Pro Bowler and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Bosa is significant, the 49ers have been able to cover in their past two games.

Washington look far more vulnerable than Denver Broncos or the Seahawks did entering this matchup.

The Commanders have already given up 14 passing touchdowns this season and have been picked apart by superior opponents.

The 49ers have scored at least 27 points in four of their five games and should have little trouble moving the ball against a Washington unit that ranks among the NFL's poorest defenses statistically.

Daniels gives the Commanders a fighting chance offensively, but asking Washington to keep pace with San Francisco for four quarters looks a tall order.

The return of key offensive pieces, combined with home-field advantage and a significant talent edge, makes the 49ers the strongest play on the spread.

George Kittle anytime touchdown scorer (+105)

George Kittle has a golden opportunity to add to his impressive touchdown tally on Monday night.

The veteran tight end has already found the end zone four times this season and remains one of Brock Purdy's most trusted targets in clutch situations.

Moreover, Washington have been dreadful at defending opposing tight ends.

The Commanders have already allowed seven touchdowns to the position through five games, behind only Detroit Lions' nine scores allowed to TEs.

Kittle is tied for the team lead in red-zone targets with six and continues to play a prominent role whenever San Francisco gets inside scoring territory.

His combination of physicality, route-running and chemistry with Purdy makes him extremely difficult to defend near the goal line.

Against a defense that has consistently allowed tight ends to make an impact, Kittle stands out as one of the strongest touchdown selections on the board.

Antonio Williams 20+ receiving yards (-115)

Williams has flown under the radar since his productive Week 1 display against Philadelphia Eagles, but the underlying numbers suggest a breakout game is not far away.

The Commanders receiver ran routes on 76% of the team's dropbacks against New York Giants last week, leading all Washington pass catchers.

Although he received only three targets in that game, he snagged all three for 31 yards.

Williams continues to see plenty of involvement in the offensive structure and the game script could also work in his favour.

With Washington entering as sizeable underdogs, there is a strong possibility they will be chasing points during the second half.

That should force Daniels to throw more frequently and create additional opportunities for Williams underneath and across the middle of the field.

The line remains modest considering his route participation and recent usage, making the over an appealing option.
