Bears vs. Seahawks Predictions, Player Props & Best Bets

NFL Week 8 concludes with a Monday Night Football clash that could serve as a playoff preview as the Chicago Bears travel to Lumen Field to face the Seattle Seahawks.

This matchup should have major postseason implications, with both teams viewed as legitimate NFC contenders as the regular season approaches its midpoint.

The Bears have built a 5-2 record under second-year head coach Ben Johnson, with the team's fortunes closely tied to third-year quarterback Caleb Williams' performances.

When healthy, the former No. 1 overall pick has ranked among the NFL's most efficient passers and has led Chicago to 30-plus points in each of his three full appearances.

But he now faces arguably his toughest challenge of the season against Mike Macdonald's dominant Seahawks defense.

In their last game, Seattle's 20-3 home win over Kansas City, they limited Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to one of the least productive outings of his career.

Macdonald's unit has allowed just 3.99 yards per play this year — emerging as the league's premier pass defense by surrendering only 5.2 yards per pass attempt.

With the Bears on a two-game tear and the 4-3 Seahawks desperately needing a victory to keep up with the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers, this game has all the hallmarks of being a primetime November epic.

Bears vs. Seahawks Betting Picks & Predictions

Seahawks -3.5 (+105)

This matchup hinges on whether Seattle's defense can do better against Williams than Carolina, Atlanta, or New England did.

The NFL's No. 1 pass defense should limit his ability inside and outside the pocket, though Williams torched a very good Panthers defense in Chicago's season-opening matchup.

The Bears QB threw for 269 yards and two scores that day while rushing for 65 yards more as his team put up 59 points and 552 total yards of offense on the road.

But few quarterbacks have found success against Seattle's suffocating secondary. The Seahawks lead the league in several passing metrics and consistently generate pressure without exposing themselves on the back end.

Lumen Field also remains one of the toughest venues for opposing offences, particularly for young quarterbacks operating in a hostile primetime atmosphere.

Chicago has improved dramatically under Johnson, but the Bears have yet to face a defense approaching Seattle's status.

On the other side, QB Sam Darnold should be able to exploit a Bears secondary that has been vulnerable to explosive passing plays again this season.

The Seahawks' home-field advantage, elite defense, and urgency in the NFC playoff race give them an edge that they can translate into a crucial win.

Seattle has covered the spread in two of its last three home games and can generate enough pressure to win by four points or more.

D'Andre Swift Under 61.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

D'Andre Swift's rushing yards prop stands out because of the formidable task awaiting him against one of the NFL's most dominant run defenses.

Swift has produced respectable numbers this season, averaging 68 yards on the ground, but he faces a Seattle front that has completely shut down opposing rushers.

The Seahawks are allowing just 71 rushing yards per game to running backs and only 3.4 yards per carry.

In fact, no RB has managed more than 68 rushing yards against Seattle all season.

If the Bears fall behind and are forced to lean on Williams' arm, Swift's chances of carrying the ball could vanish quickly.

Against a defense that rarely gives up chunk runs, backing the under remains the preferred play.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 101.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Few players in the NFL have been as productive as Jaxon Smith-Njigba through the first seven weeks of the season.

The Seahawks star has become the focal point of Seattle's passing attack, leading the league in target share, air-yard share and receiving yards per game.

He has surpassed 100 receiving yards in six of seven contests and continues to command a huge share of Darnold's targets.

Chicago's secondary has struggled to limit opposing receivers' efficiency, ranking near the bottom of the league in yards allowed per target.

Smith-Njigba has consistently turned elite volume into elite production all season long, and this matchup gives him an excellent opportunity to reach triple-digit yardage once again.
